Abstract
High voltage electrical devices are essential for the distribution and management of electrical power along highways in Uttar Pradesh (UP), India. However, the operation of these devices in outdoor highway environments faces unique challenges including insulation failure, transient overvoltages, corrosion, and mechanical stresses. This review article examines the common electrical problems encountered by high voltage equipment installed along UP highways, analyzes their causes and impacts on power reliability, and discusses advanced diagnostic and maintenance techniques. The study emphasizes the need for robust monitoring systems and material innovations to ensure stable electrical infrastructure in the region.
