Abstract
India's manufacturing sector is rapidly expanding, yet electrical issues continue to hinder operational efficiency, productivity, and equipment lifespan in many factories. Common challenges include unstable power supply, poor power quality, outdated wiring, transformer failures, and inadequate grounding systems. This review investigates the electrical infrastructure problems faced by factories across industrial zones in India. Through analysis of industrial surveys, energy audits, and technical literature, we highlight the root causes and quantitative impact of these issues. Tables present data on voltage fluctuations, energy losses, power factor variation, and downtime due to electrical failures. The article emphasizes the need for smart monitoring, preventive maintenance, and improved power system design.
